Denver Marriott names new GM

The Denver Marriott City Center on Wednesday named Bill Ninivaggi its new general manager.

Ninivaggi's hospitality career, spanning more than 35 years, includes cross-discipline positions for multiple hotels around the United States and Canada. He has served as director of human resources at the Princeton Marriott, area director of loss prevention in the New York area, regional director of service development in New York and the former northeast region, resident manager at Marriott's Seaview Resort and hotel manager at the former World Trade Center hotel. His first general manager position was at the Toronto Eaton Centre Marriott in 1999. He's also been general manager of the New York Marriott East Side Hotel and area general manager of the Detroit Marriott at Renaissance Center and Courtyard by Marriott Detroit. He comes to the downtown Denver hotel from Chicago, where he was general manager of the Chicago Marriott Downtown Magnificent Mile, one of Marriott's most revered and iconic hotels.

Ninivaggi also has served as a board member of industry-related organizations such as the New York Business Council, New York Hotel Association and convention bureaus and tourism associations for cities including Chicago, Detroit and Toronto.

"I am excited to join a staff that has consistently been known to exceed expectations in service at a hotel that offers exceptional amenities and atmosphere," Ninivaggi said in a prepared statement. "We will continue to offer our deluxe accommodations in a vibrant environment full of culture as well as excite travelers with great deals that will keep us towering above other hotels in Denver."
