S&L Hospitality, Verona, buys indoor waterpark resort in Warrens

Three Bears Resort
S&L Hospitality, a Verona hotel and resort development firm, is the new owner of Three Bears Resort, an indoor waterpark resort in Warrens, about 120 miles northwest of Madison.

Terms of the acquisition, which was finalized Monday, were not disclosed. S&L bought the resort from the Bank of Mauston.

Built in 2006, Three Bears Resort has 93 guest rooms, 60 private cabins, meeting space, indoor and outdoor waterparks, and a skate park.

The resort is the 15th property owned and managed by S&L nationwide, and the second with an indoor waterpark; the other is at The Waters of Minocqua.

In the Madison area, S&L owns Clarion Suites, Rimrock Road, and Fairfield Inn & Suites and Holiday Inn Express & Suites, both in Verona. The company has proposed building a Sleep Inn hotel in the village of Oregon — which would be the community’s first hotel — and has asked for $1 million in tax incremental financing for the project.

S&L was established in 2005 after founder Eric Lund split off from Great Wolf Resorts, Madison, where he was one of the founding members. S&L has 1,000 employees.
