Holiday Inn Hotel and Suites Wins Corporate Award

LAKEVILLE, MN (NOVEMBER 22, 2009) - Being singled out among over 4,000 Holiday Inn hotels, the Lakeville’s Holiday Inn Hotel & Suites was recently honored with the prestigious 2009 Kemmons Wilson Award!   

The Kemmons Wilson Spirit of Family Award was given out to one Holiday Inn brand Torchbearer Award winner and one Express brand during the Global Investors & Leadership Conference in Washington DC this November.   Named for its founder, the award is given to hotels that best exemplify Kemmon’s vision of excellent hospitality during the award year.  The Torchbearer recognizes operational excellence.

The 2009 Kemmons Award will have much company in the trophy cabinet at its new Lakeville home along side their 2009 Newcomer, 2008 Quality of Excellence and 2009 Torchbearer awards. 

Holiday Inn Hotels & Suites opened in December 2006 as a full-service hotel.  The hotel has 132 guest rooms including 36 suites; poolside/poolview rooms overlooking a New Orleans style streetscape.  The indoor pool is a holidome with spa, waterslide and children’s play pool.  The hotel has a Rudy’s Red Eye Grille restaurant and 5,000 square foot banquet space, as well as an executive boardroom.

The Lakeville Convention & Visitors Bureau is funded by a lodging tax, which is 3% on the gross receipts from guests occupying lodging at hotels and motels.
