MPI Awards MIC of Colorado a RISE Award for Community Achievement in Knowledge & Ideas

Meeting Professionals International distributed their annual RISE (Recognizing Industry Success and Excellence) Awards at the World Education Congress in San Francisco, CA on August 3, 2015. The Rise Awards are given annually to industry professionals and organizations in three categories; individual achievement, community achievement and organizational achievement.

This year’s RISE Award for Community Achievement in Knowledge & Ideas was awarded to MIC (Meetings Industry Council) of Colorado for their continued efforts in the creation of a unified marketplace for industry networking and education at their annual conference and tradeshow, held each March. The Council, comprised of (13) individual hospitality industry associations, has jointly planned the event since 2001 with directive efforts to showcase trends and technological advancements of the industry.

“We are so proud to be recognized by MPI so auspiciously,” touted Debbie Taylor, Chair of the 2015 Conference & Trade Show. “We convene each year with the express purpose to collaborate and deliver the best education and networking opportunities for our attendees, and the fact MIC was distinguished for its “community achievement” is a great honor.”

The 2015 Conference and Trade show featured a redesigned trade show floor and convention space, in addition to educational seminars on industry topics such as social media, contract negotiation, professional development and adaptations in overall event management.

The 2016 MIC Conference and Trade Show is scheduled for Thursday, March 17, 2016. Visit our website for more information. The Meetings Industry Council of Colorado was founded in 1987 in an effort to bring greater collaboration, networking and education to the dedicated members of our industry.
