Minnesota resort ranks among Midwest's Top 5

Grand View Lodge in Nisswa ranks among the Top 5 resorts in the Midwest in Condé Nast Traveler’s Readers’ Choice Awards.

The Brainerd Lakes-area resort, which is located on Gull Lake, came in at No. 4 with an average reader rating of 86.4. It was the only Minnesota resort on the list.

Grand View Lodge opened in 1916. It features a variety of lodging and dining options, as well as a golf course and various other seasonal activities. Its Main Lodge was selected in 1979 for the National Registry of Historic Places.

The rankings were based on scores from Condé Nast Traveler’s readers, who rated hotels in Illinois, Indiana, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, Ohio and Wisconsin.

The top resort on the list was the Osthoff Resort in Elkhart Lake, Wis., which had a score of 88.7. Also included at No. 3, American Club, Kohler, with an average reader rating of 86.9.
