Feast Your Eyes on This — What to Look for in a Minnesota Banquet Event Venue

What’s your criteria for a Minnesota banquet event venue? Does the site need to be memorable or do you just need an expansive space for your guests? Are you in search of a location that offers entertainment options in addition to a meal, or is the entertainment primary and the banquet secondary? Or are you simply hungering for a really great dining experience for your guests? Whatever your requirements for a premier banquet event facility, we know of more than a few in Minnesota to meet your specific needs.

Location, location, location

Event venues that are destinations in and of themselves are every planner’s dream come true. Elegant surroundings, an intriguing history, stunning architecture, or interiors that rival ordinary venues can help bring an event to life and make it memorable.

With its whimsical plaster sculptures, artistic décor, and sophisticated meeting rooms, the Minnesota Humanities Center fits that bill. Available for overnight retreats with 15 beautifully furnished rooms with private baths, the center is ideal for groups as small as 5 or as large as 150.

Offering twenty unique event venues, the St. Paul Student Center at the University of Minnesota has the site you seek. From the sizable Coffman Theater for large-group presentations to the intimate and artistic Paul Whitney Larson Gallery, the center has the space that’s just right for your group.

If your gang would get into getting back to nature, the Springbrook Nature Center is the place to be. Four meeting spaces can be combined to accommodate as many as 160, while the surrounding grounds welcome visitors to three miles of hiking trails through forests, prairies, and over wetlands on floating boardwalks.

Located in the heart of Mankato, the Verizon Center is the picture of versatility. The elegant banquet hall, historic reception hall, and eight breakout spaces make this the ideal venue for groups of all sizes.

Wide open spaces

Planning a large banquet? Go where there’s room for everyone as well as some seriously good eats available. There’s no shortage of great places to go, including the Coon Rapids Civic Center and the National Sports Center, both located in the north metro. Coon Rapids can seat up to 160 guests in their banquet facilities while offering modern kitchen facilities and the freedom to bring in your favorite caterer. An outdoor courtyard, patio, and picnic areas make it the ideal spot for a casual gathering too. The National Sports Center invites guests to enjoy 75,000 square feet of meeting space, more than 3000 parking spaces, on-site, full-service catering, and more.

There’s room to spare at the Mounds View Event Center with space for up to 350 guests, and the New Brighton Community Center with room for as many as 240. Both offer a choice of catering options, AV equipment, sound system, and spacious dance floor.

Enjoy stylish surroundings, space for up to 280 guests, and on-site catering at the North Metro Event Center, or choose the nearby Shoreview Community Center with indoor banquet facilities as well as an outdoor pavilion for up to 150 people.

Finally, the good folks in Owatonna offer a warm midwestern welcome to those who meet at the Four Seasons Civic Centre. The multi-purpose complex consists of two connected buildings with 30,000 and 20,000 square feet of floor space.

Fun and games

What can be better than a great space and delicious fare? Fun and games!

Bus your bunch to the Mermaid Entertainment and Event Center for a banquet and bowling. Take advantage of the 100,000 square feet of meeting space, 69-room attached AmericInn Hotel and Suites, large indoor pool and water slide, plus game room with billiards, arcade, darts, and more.

Or, glide on over to the Roseville Skating Center + City Hall where the banquet facility seats 300 and your guests can take a twirl on the renowned Oval, the year-round, indoor rink, that’s a popular local favorite.

A place to play around

With winter slipping away and spring just around the corner, it must be time to tee up and love the links. Many popular local facilities have gorgeous club houses with mouthwatering menus, perfect for a bountiful banquet after playing a round.

Green Haven Golf Course features an 18-hole championship course, first-class banquet facility with stunning course views, and an easy-to-get-to location in the heart of Anoka.

For a space that’s truly magnificent, Majestic Oaks Golf Club has just the place for you and 280 of your attendees. Floor to ceiling windows, elegant chandeliers, and adjacent patio that overlooks the lush 18-hole golf course scores big with guests.

Rush Creek Golf Club extends its hospitality to as many as 400 visitors, serves up a wide-ranging menu of fine dining favorites, and lures players to their 18-hole championship golf course named “Best Public Golf Course in the City” by Forbes.

Boasting one of the Twin Cities’ most prestigious private championship courses, Arnold Palmer designed TPC of the Twin Cities offers a clubhouse with upscale dining, private meeting rooms, and stunning banquet facilities.

No matter what your needs, from soup to nuts, Minnesota has some of the finest banquet facilities around for you and your guests to enjoy.
