Casino Public Affairs Specialist Kathy Ciskoski scoops up a helping of sautéed green beans for guests of the Ronald McDonald House. Ronald McDonald House Charities Eastern Wisconsin (RMHC) has been selected as one of this year’s benefiting charities of Potawatomi Bingo Casino’s signature community program – Miracle on Canal Street. RMHC is excited and grateful for the opportunity to receive such a generous grant to help fund ongoing operational costs. Additionally, Potawatomi’s Miracle on Canal Street team served an evening dinner to the families at the Ronald McDonald House on Monday, Nov. 25, 2013 from 6-7 p.m.

For 30 years, RMHC has opened our doors and our hearts to families who are often at the most frightening point in their lives – seeing their child through critical medical care. RMHC is committed to providing our families with the normalcy of home while everything important in their lives is out of control. Casino Executive Sous Chef Robert Dietiker prepares dinner for guests of the Ronald McDonald House For many families, an evening meal together is a very special ritual. While many of us take for granted a home cooked meal, our guest families who often return to the House exhausted after a long day at the hospital, are immensely grateful for this simple gesture. Volunteer groups, like the group for Potawatomi Bingo Casino, provide and serve dinner to our families nearly every night.

“We are so glad to have the support of Potawatomi Bingo Casino. This is a fantastic partnership,” said Ann Petrie, president and CEO of RMHC Eastern Wisconsin. “It means a lot that the Potawatomi team wants to help the House by providing a meal and volunteering their time to serve our families.” “Miracle on Canal Street allows Potawatomi Bingo Casino a chance to give back to a community that has been so good to us,” said Don Sally, casino Food & Beverage director. “Being able to share a meal with families staying at the Ronald McDonald House who are facing difficult circumstances is both rewarding and humbling for everyone taking part.”
