The Slate Denver The Slate Denver Hotel Bar

In late May, The Slate Denver, Tapestry Collection by Hilton, opened its doors at the former site of the historic Emily Griffith Opportunity School. The four-story hotel features 251 guest rooms down the building’s literal old school hallways.

The Slate Denver offers 4,420 square feet of total event space, with the largest room setup measuring 2,000 square feet, as well as six meeting rooms, and is located across the street from the Colorado Convention Center.

Cherry Creek North’s former JW Marriott was reimagined and reopened this spring as Hotel Clio, a Luxury Collection Hotel, Denver Cherry Creek after a multimillion-dollar renovation.

The 193-room hotel features 10,000 square feet of event space, including two modern ballrooms, indoor and and outdoor spaces, 10 event rooms and a rooftop deck overlooking the Rocky Mountains.

The new Springhill Suites Colorado Springs Downtown had its grand opening May 26 in partnership with Element Colorado Springs Downtown. The first, a 136-room, all-suite property, features panoramic views of Pikes Peak, Garden of the Gods and the Rocky Mountains, while Element brings another 125 guest rooms.

The two hotels, in collaboration, feature 3,615 square feet of technology-forward meeting space, the largest hosting up to 799 guests.

The Colorado Convention Center is undergoing an expansion anticipated to be completed in late 2023, ensuring operation throughout construction. The project includes a new 80,000-square-foot, column-free multipurpose room and outdoor rooftop terrace with views of the city and skyline.

After its completion, the project will be the largest ballroom in Colorado, and the building itself one of the largest in Denver. The ground floor will receive lobby renovations and an integration into the existing building, with access to an additional 150,000 square feet of meeting space, 600,000 square feet of exhibit space and a 5,000-seat Bellco Theatre.

The rooftop expansion will connect the new ballroom and prefunction spaces to landscaped outdoor areas with a view of the Rocky Mountains, and technology improvements and networking spaces increase hybrid meeting opportunities.
