Four Seasons Resort Vail opening delayed again!

The $250 million dollar Four Seasons Resort Vail has delayed its opening again and there is currently no new opening date for the project.  The current owner, an affiliate of Barclays Capital Real Estate, filed suit against Ground Engineering Consultants in U.S. District Court.  The lawsuit alleges the Ground Engineering did not provide the “elongation test” which confirm that the building is structually sound, which it had been hired to produce.  The issues found were isolated, have been addressed and are in the process of being repaired.

The Four Seasons remains under construction in Vail Village.  It broke ground in 2005 and was originally scheduled to be complete in 2008.  It is slated to have 121 hotel rooms, 16 condos and 19 fractional residences.

The Four Seasons Resort Vail is one of the major components of Vail’s so called “renaissance,” which includes several multi-million dollar construction projects around town, such as the Arrabelle at Vail Square, Solaris and the Ritz-Carlton.
