New hotel tower opens at Mystic Lake Casino

The Shakopee Mdewakanton Sioux Community on Thursday celebrated the opening of a new hotel tower and convention center at Mystic Lake Casino.

The Mystic Lake Center, a nine-story hotel and conference center, is attached to the casino at 2400 Mystic Lake Blvd. NW in Prior Lake. The tower includes a 70,000-square-foot event center with two large ballrooms and an array of smaller spaces. The upper stories include 180 hotel rooms, each with a view of the 18-hole golf course. It gives the complex a total of 766 hotel rooms.

“It’s an exciting time for the Shakopee Mdewakanton Sioux Community,” Angela Heikes, the head of the tribe’s gaming division, said in a press release.

Burnsville-based PCL Construction Services Inc. was the general contractor on the Mystic Lake project. Mystic Lake Center was designed by Denver-based Worth Group Architects & Designers.
