First Rosie Awards Given at SPINCon 2018

St. Paul, MN November 27, 2018 Inaugural Awards to Honor SPIN Members

SPINCon’s first Rosie Awards were given to planners Tom Anderson, CMP and
Terry Matthews-Lombardo, CMP for their contributions to SPIN. The award, a
giant silver cup signifying that with SPIN our cups always overflow with support
from one another, is in recognition of SPIN volunteers who have gone above
and beyond with their dedication to the organization.

“Rosie Ledesma-Bernaducci, CMP, was an early supporter of SPIN and was a
firm believer in giving back,” said SPIN founder Shawna Suckow, CMP. “When
she took her life a few years ago, we all were devastated. She was the impetus
that led us to change the format of our conference (SPINCon) to focus on the
whole individual, not just the business side.”

SPIN executive director, Tracey Smith, CMM, CMP added, “This year we decided
to change her legacy from one of sadness to one of celebration – honoring her
commitment to the organization by recognizing others who have a similar
passion.”

This Year’s Recipients

Tom Anderson, CMP, with Technology Services Industry Association (TSIA) has been a SPIN member since its inception. He founded the San Diego branch of SPIN, which has grown to a group of nearly 100 strong with consistently highrated programming. Tom recently launched the Arizona branch of SPIN and is looking to add two more branches in the Southwest in 2019.

Terry Matthews-Lombardo, CMP, owner of TML Services in Florida, has also been a SPIN supporter since the early days 10 years ago. Terry, an avid writer, was the SPIN newsletter editor for more than 6 years. Both Tom and Terry also have been honored as recipients of SPIN’s “40 Over 40” award. They both currently serve on SPIN’s Advisory Board.
