The Tapestry Collection by Hilton, a portfolio of upscale, independent hotels that was launched in 2017, is on a rapid growth projection. Hilton said the soft brand has strong development plans for 2019, which will see it reach a number of milestones and additions to its ranks. Last year, the collection more than tripled in size, adding 14 hotels to the brand, including its first in New York City, the 96-room Bernic Hotel New York City, and its first in the Chicago area, the 165-room Rose Hotel Chicago O'Hare.

"As we celebrate entering our third year and our impressive growth since launch, we look forward to welcoming guests in new destinations all over the United States, from New Jersey to California and many great locations in between," said Jenna Hackett, global head, Tapestry Collection by Hilton, in a statement announcing the brand's 2019 plans. "Simultaneously, we are actively exploring new development opportunities that provide travelers with an original, vibrant hotel experience combined with the benefits of Hilton Honors."

This year, the brand will open its first West Coast properties, bringing unique, urban style to the Pacific Northwest. In February, the 142-room Sound Hotel Seattle Belltown, Tapestry Collection by Hilton, opened in Seattle's technology hub district. It features two meeting rooms.

Three more hotels in the Tapestry Collection will open later this year in key locations in California, Iowa and New Jersey. In addition, the brand has confirmed deals in the Caribbean and Peru, although the exact locations have yet to be revealed.
