Venue 221 Announces Great Giveback Recipients

Four Colorado non-profit organizations receive donated event space

Denver, CO (August 1, 2017) - VENUE 221, Cherry Creek North’s premier event space, has announced its 2017-2018 Great Giveback winners. Non-profits throughout the state of Colorado applied for donated space at VENUE 221 to host fundraisers, meetings and volunteer appreciation gatherings. The 2017-2018 winners include: Curious Theatre Company, Rocky Mountain Lions Eye Bank, Excelsior and Zane Beadles Parade Foundation.  Recipients were chosen through an application process from many submissions this spring and summer by an advisory council.

VENUE 221 has set a goal to donate one event venue use each quarter with an annual value exceeding $20,000 worth of venue rental to four deserving non-profit organizations. Colorado non-profits are given a first class space to host an event through The Great Giveback program. Each organization will select an available date within the quarter they have been awarded to host their event.

Quarter 4, 2017 Winner: The Curious Theatre Company
The Curious Theatre Company produces thought-provoking plays designed to challenge ideas and stir emotions. Curious consists of 27 professional actors, designers, and directors working together to bring its rich history and commitment to playwrights with gutsy things to say alive.

Quarter 1, 2018 Winner: The Rocky Mountain Lions Eye Bank
The Rocky Mountain Lions Eye Bank fulfills the wishes of eye donors and their families to help another overcome blindness through transplantation and research. The dedication to this mission allows eye, organ and tissue donors in Colorado and Wyoming to provide nearly 2,000 sight-restorative transplants each year.

Quarter 2, 2018 Winner: Excelsior
Excelsior specializes in a wide range of mental and behavioral healthcare services. Excelsior strengthens and educates at-risk youth ages 0-24, and their families. Excelsior’s individualized programming is designed to reach youth early, preserve the family unit and achieve positive, lasting change.

Quarter 3, 2018 Winner: Zane Beadles Parade Foundation
Founded in 2013 by then Denver Bronco now San Francisco 49ers offensive lineman Zane Beadles, the Zane Beadles Parade Foundation (ZBPF) is a nonprofit organization that supports the journey of young people going through life-changing medical experiences.

VENUE 221 has announced the deadlines for the 2018-2019 Great Giveback. Submissions for Q4 of 2018 and Q1 of 2019 are due February 28, 2018. The winners will be announced March 28, 2018. Submissions for the remainder of 2019 are due by July 30, 2018. Winners will be announced August 31, 2018.

All non-profit organizations that submit an application to The Great Giveback will automatically receive 10 percent off a future rental rate and a complimentary in-house audio/visual package included at the event.
