Courtyard by Marriott Opens in Waterloo

WATERLOO, Iowa Courtyard by Marriott welcomed the 166-room Courtyard Waterloo Cedar Falls to Waterloo, Iowa. The hotel, located at 250 Westfield Ave., features the brand’s innovative lobby space and guest room design as well as 4,500 square feet of meeting and event space. The John Deere Banquet Hall is the hotel's primary venue.

The Marriott franchise hotel is owned and managed by Grand Rapids, Mich.-based Hospitality Specialist. Nearby attractions include the University of Northern Iowa campus and the John Deere Tractor and Engine Museum.

The new Courtyard room design concept offers hybrid zones for working, sleeping and relaxing, featuring indirect lighting and a neutral, tone-on-tone color palette. Other features include a “Luggage Drop” area and a “Tech Drop” ledge where guests plug in personal tech devices; a “LoungeAround” sofa that can be used for lounging or working; and a light desk on wheels that allows guests to work from anywhere in the room.

The new “Refreshing Business” lobby environment offers media pods, free Wi-Fi and a variety of seating zones that can be used for ad-hoc meetings and social gatherings. The Bistro—Eat. Drink. Connect will provide easy access to food options that range from healthy menu items for breakfast to light evening fare.

The six-story hotel will also contain an indoor swimming pool and whirlpool spa, and a fitness center.
