SentryWorld Introduces Unique $275 All-Inclusive Golf Experience In Wisconsin

SentryWorld

Best known for its iconic “flower hole,” SentryWorld is embracing a new way to stand out in Wisconsin’s crowded high-end public golf market: an all-inclusive golf experience that includes unlimited food and beverage in the $275 play rate.

Yes, in addition to the typical complimentary tees and ball markers, golfers visiting the property can grab bratwurst, cheese curds, candy bars, a cooler of beer and perhaps one of SentryWorld’s signature cocktails — all for free — before hitting the first tee.

The new golf experience, which debuts in June 2022, is about more than free food though. Instead of 10-minute tee time intervals, SentryWorld is spreading the gap between groups to 20 minutes to ensure guests don’t feel rushed on the course. Essentially cutting the number of golfers in half means improved playing conditions. Pristine conditioning has been a focus at SentryWorld, which in the past 18 months installed SubAir systems beneath every green and new drip irrigation around all the bunkers as part of preparations to host the 2023 U.S. Senior Open.

“We wanted to create something special, something very unique,” said SentryWorld General Manager Mike James. “So this new fully-inclusive golf concept evolved. It’s taken a while to build it, to understand it. It’s very different, very unlike anything the typical golfer will experience.”

A GPS-equipped golf cart is included in the $275 general public rate, as are all gratuities. As James notes, a guest can simply leave his or her wallet in the car after paying the green fee at the course, a Robert Trent Jones Jr. design which has been recognized as one of the best public golf offerings in a state that boasts destination locations such as Whistling Straits, Sand Valley, Erin Hills and Lawsonia Links.

For many golfers, the focus will invariably be the free F&B. Because on the course, everything is on the house. SentryWorld is currently building two on-course comfort stations that offer locally curated food and beverage options. Golfers will be able to stop four times during the round and not only will there be a bounty of grab-and-go items — snacks, sandwiches, ice cream, chips, candy and more — the refreshment stations will be manned by a chef as well as a bartender. Whether it’s a Bloody Mary, an Old Fashioned or the signature Mai Tai that Sentry has adopted from its sponsorship of the PGA TOUR’s Tournament of Champions in Maui, the “swing lube” will all be part of the green fee at SentryWorld.

“We’re obviously a business and we want to make sure it makes good financial sense to us, but we also want to make sure that anyone who comes to Sentry has a great time,” James said. “That’s what made it an easy decision. We studied this concept, we ran all the calculations. We’re going in this direction for all the right reasons.”

More is on the way at SentryWorld, too. The property is opening a new 64-room boutique hole — The Inn at SentryWorld — along the 18th fairway. With high-end accommodations that cater to golf groups, the inn will be open by the time SentryWorld’s 2022 golf season starts with its all-inclusive experience.
