Beyond the Winter Blahs — What’s Colorful, Bright, and New for Spring.

This year more than ever before, we need a big, bold jump into spring, and trending colors and fabrics are going to help us do just that.

Radiant Orchid, Pantone’s delicious Color of the Year, can be seen absolutely everywhere. In all its tints and hues – from pale lavender to Concord grape - romantic purples give us the boost we need to remind us of fragrant blooms and the promise of spring. Paired with soft pastels reminiscent of colors found in cottage gardens, bold violets beautifully complement sky blues, ornamental greens, freesia yellows, and cayenne reds in everything from linens, to napkins, to floral and furniture.

Wood is even brightening up this spring with a return to honey colors like walnut and oak. This offers a refreshing segue into brighter days from heavier, dark-toned furniture of year’s past.

Layering textures is all the rage this season, so look for interesting combinations such as blending this year’s popular nubby chenille with the elegance of smooth satin to build an exciting look in furniture and pillow accents.

Finally, digital patterns are replacing geometric patterns of the past few years, so watch for fresher, lighter looks in fabrics more infused with organic shapes inspired by nature.
