Single Source Solutions — Find the perfect place in just one space

It is the dilemma we all face at one time or another, creating an event that will provide everything in one location, yet at a price that will fit within nearly any budget.  Impossible you say…not at all. Turns out the Twin Cities are full of venues where you can meet | convene, feed and entertain your guests at prices that are surprisingly affordable. Here a few options we uncovered within easy commute to nearly anywhere in the metro area.

Canterbury Park

Located within 30-35 minutes from the north side of Minneapolis or the east side of Saint Paul, Canterbury Park offers “Fun and Games like No Place Else!” Conveniently located just off HWY 169 in Shakopee, Canterbury’s new Expo Center offers more than 30,000 square feet of flexible meeting space and state-of-the-art audio-visual capability. The Expo Center is supported by the Clubhouse which offers another 70,000 square feet of flexible space including the newly renovated Club Level with three beautifully appointed spaces for groups of 20 up to 500.  Canterbury Park is one of the region’s best values when it comes to professional sports, offering the region’s only live thoroughbred racing in a manner consistent with some of the top races tracks in the country.  In addition to the sport of kings, Canterbury’s Card Casino attracts players from all over the country for their tournaments, like the Fall Poker Classic! The facility is also home to the region’s largest Craft Show, MMA matches, concerts, and music festivals.

Catering prices begin with the modestly priced continental breakfast at just $8, and range to a buffet dinner featuring carved tenderloin and béarnaise for just $38. Parking is always free and admission to racing for groups range from just $2 to $8, depending on the day of your event.  Friday’s include live music from the area’s hottest bands, so if you’re looking for the perfect venue this spring, summer or fall, Canterbury Park should be on your list.

CHS Field

Located in Saint Paul’s trendy Mears Park area, CHS Field is the new home of the Saint Paul Saints!  Opening this summer, the new facility will be home to more than just baseball!  The venue will also feature spaces for meetings and events, concerts, and other shows, as well as working with organizers of annual events like the Winter Carnival, to extend their reach from Rice Park to Mears Park.

CHS Field offers affordable food and beverages, and inexpensive tickets for baseball all summer long.  As for entertainment, few understand entertainment like the team at the Saints who have made it their business to make each game an experience. From pig races to messages behind home plate, a Saint’s game is more an experience than a sporting event.  An example of ticket prices for groups and catering include the Craft Beer Bullpen, where the rental is just $100 for the space, and just $22 per person for catering in addition to your group ticket purchase, which begins at just $8.

Medina Entertainment Center

Located on the west side of the Twin Cities just 20 minutes from Minneapolis and 35 minutes from the east side of Saint Paul is the Medina Entertainment Center. At Medina, you can host your next corporate outing which can include meeting space, catering, reception, bowling and even a ticket to one of their concerts, all by making just one phone call.

The Medina Entertainment Center has been around for decades, yet enjoys a loyal following because of all their entertainment options. The flexible space allows you to dress up the event with the spacious Ballroom, or make it more casual by taking the bowling lanes private for a little cosmic bowling. Combine either of these options to include private meeting space before or after your event.  Bowling starts at just $3.50 per game, shoe rentals are just $5, and catering prices range from just $11 for a continental breakfast and go up to a three entrée dinner buffet for just $28.

So next time you need a venue that can do it all in just one call, try one of these - then take the rest of the day off!
