Memorable moments are built around time spent with others. So, if you want to create a truly memorable event, focus your planning on how to facilitate interaction among your guests – and that doesn’t mean simply setting aside networking time. Get your guests active and acquainted and your event will be one they remember for a long time.
Promote Healthy Competition
One of the easiest ways to promote interaction is to engage guests in an activity. You can’t go wrong with arcade games, which spark some healthy competition and plenty of memorable moments. Dave & Buster’s Maple Grove offers meeting space as well as dining in addition to its entertainment options. They even offer a variety of team-building events specially designed to encourage interaction among your guests.
Similarly, Minnesota is home to a number of casinos, including Jackpot Junction Casino Hotel in Morton, Shooting Star Casino Hotel & Event Center in Mahnomen, and Treasure Island Resort & Casio in Welch, all of which boast ample meeting space. And for the non-gamers in your crowd, they also offer alternative activities, such as spas, golf and even boating.
Take it Outdoors
Outdoor activities are always popular since midwesterners like to take advantage of every bit of warm weather they can get. Paradise Charter Cruises offers yachts on both the Mississippi River and Lake Minnetonka, as well as the Minneapolis Queen paddlewheeler on the Mississippi, all of which cruise rain or shine and include climate-controlled cabins.
A golf event doesn’t have to be just for experience golfers. Set up a team-based tournament, such as a scramble, and everyone can participate without the pressure to perform. Minnesota is home to a jewel of a golf course right off the banks of the Mississippi River. The Jewel Golf Club in Lake City was named one of America’s best new golf courses by Golf Digest in 2007. Designed by PGA golfer Hale Irwin, the course is sure to delight your guests while they are getting acquainted.
Another good outdoor option for both large and small groups is the Minnesota Landscape Arboretum in Chaska. The Arboretum offers both outdoor and indoor event spaces as well as plenty of room for guests to explore together among the gardens and trails.
Leave Them Screaming
There is no attraction in Minnesota more well-known than the Mall of America, which now features the first-ever Nickelodeon theme park – Nickelodeon Universe. Meet at MOA’s outstanding facilities, then rent the whole theme park for your group after hours and leave them screaming for more.
Give Them Something To Talk About
A shared experience, such as seeing an Imax film, can be a great way to get your guests talking. The Great Clips Imax Theatre, located at the Minnesota Zoo in Apple Valley, is available to reserve for private events. You can have one of the Imax films played or show your own presentation on the big screen.
You don’t have to visit an exciting attraction to amuse your guests. Bring the fun to them, with entertainment such as Blaze Driscoll, comedy hypnotist and speaker. Driscoll combines pragmatic content with engaging audience participation that will definitely give your guests something to talk about.
Whatever type of event you are planning, just remember to focus on the activities and attractions and you will be guaranteed to make a memorable impression on your guests.
